Brighter Side of Sol (BSOS) is a psychedelic groove band based in Honolulu, Hawaii. Formed in 2018, Brighter Side of Sol came together as a trio of diverse musicians who met in the Honolulu music scene. Inspired by a wide range of artists, including Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Santana,The Police, Radiohead, Thievery Corporation, Khurangbin, Arc de Soleil, Neil Francis, Robert Glasper, Ali Farka Toure, and Deltron 3000. These inspirations are uniquely blended with the traditional sounds of India and Malaysia with elements of Malian rhythms layered over groovy beats, and psychedelic guitars.
Brighter Side of Sol creates original music with trance-like grooves, ethnic vocal textures spanning across multiple languages, and lush atmospheric effects for psychedelic soundscapes that take listeners on a journey.
Brighter Side of Sol is based out of Honolulu, Hawaii, and performs at events across Oahu and Music Festivals. At each occasion, the band is recognized as a trio bringing a new and unique sound to the local music scene, and plans to take this music across the world.
Brighter Side of Sol is currently working on an debut album that will be released in 2025 with a planned tour in 2026.
